For many years, the annual final presentations of my dance projects in schools were simply called "Schule tanzt", until a dear colleague jokingly remarked that I should call them "Schul(t)e tanzt" because these projects have such a specific signature. Under "School(t)e tanzt" you will find a list of all the school projects listed so far.
SARAH is a project funded by Dis-Tanz-Solo. Dis-Tanzen is part of the dance aid program, which is being funded as part of New Culture, an initiative of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. SARAH stands for: Sort-Archive-Reflect-Exchange-Homepages and is an examination of the last 20 years of artistic work with children. In the following, not only is an overview of the work of the last two decades given, but also the resulting findings are made available in the form of texts and training courses. In addition, a network of artists and educators was built up, which interested parties can now fall back on.
Projects in the context of culture and school:
The last few years have been characterized by enormous productivity in the field of stage plays with school children. On average, 5-6 premieres took place every year. Usually there is no time for a worthy follow-up (archiving, publication, reflection, etc.). The pandemic has exacerbated this tendency, since not so many plays were developed, but films were made instead of performances in front of an audience, thus opening up completely new fields of work.
Here you can download a table with all school projects. It includes the year, the school, the location, the number of participants (total, male, female, dropouts), the financing, etc.
Working with children arose less from interest and more from financial necessity. The potential of this work and the positive experiences led to the continuation.
Procedures and didactics are of course determined by the objectives.
The tabular overview contains a large amount of data, the statistical evaluation of which is, however, subject to narrow limits. Some of the influencing factors are too diverse to simply compare the various projects with one another. On the other hand, all of these projects are linked to me personally, so that comparisons with other groups or generalizations of the results should be treated with caution.
